Purpose

This specification governs the creation of an English-language edition from an existing Japanese article in the 電力シェアリングNews database.

1. Source article

• Always duplicate a specified, completed Japanese article.
• Fetch the full source page before translation, including all properties, headings, body text, captions, images and source links.
• Do not use an X post or secondary article as a substitute for the source already cited in the Japanese article.

2. Editorial translation

• Do not translate sentence by sentence.
• Reconstruct the article in idiomatic professional English suitable for an international energy, infrastructure and financial-policy readership.
• Use established sector terminology, including terms such as levelised cost of electricity, capital expenditure, project IRR, strike price, bankability, grid connection, supply chain, metocean conditions and project formation where appropriate.
• Preserve every material fact, number, date, institution, policy distinction and caveat. Do not add unsupported facts.
• The tone should be analytical, concise and accessible, broadly comparable with specialist English-language financial journalism.
• Rewrite the title, standfirst, subheadings, body, captions, source notation and navigation link in English.
• Japanese syntax and paragraph order need not be retained when a different order produces a clearer English news narrative.

3. Structure

• English title in news style.
• Opening paragraphs state the news, date, actors and policy or commercial significance.
• Use descriptive English subheadings.
• Explain technical and institutional distinctions that international readers may not know.
• Close with implications, risks or the next policy and market milestones.
• Retain the official primary-source link at the end.

4. Images

• Preserve the same images, charts and their positions as the Japanese source article.
• Translate image alt text and captions into English.
• Do not replace an official-source image with a secondary-source image.
• Images are mandatory whenever the Japanese source article contains images or screenshots. The English edition must not be published with empty image blocks.
• If an image URL is temporary, signed or expired, download or copy the original official-source asset and upload it as a new persistent Notion attachment for the English page. Never rely on the temporary URL from the Japanese page.
• After registration, fetch and inspect the completed English page. Confirm that every expected image block has a valid attached file and is visibly rendered; counting image placeholders alone is not sufficient.

5. Notion properties

• Create a new page; never overwrite the Japanese original.
• Copy all classifications and metadata from the Japanese article without modification: RE, ST, MA, EL, DC-, GH, PR, ProjectType, categories, tags, organisations, committee data, management numbers, rank, source URL and all applicable dates.
• Set the English-language property ENG to EN.
• Leave article type blank when it is blank in the source.
• Preserve announcement date, meeting date and publication datetime from the source unless separately instructed.
• The English title is entered in the Name/title property.
• Maintain the same primary-source URL and image provenance.

6. Quality control

Before registration, verify:

1. No change to facts, figures or policy meaning.
2. No literal Japanese phrasing that reads unnaturally in English.
3. Technical terminology is internationally intelligible.
4. Images and captions correspond to the original article.
5. All copied properties match the Japanese source.
6. ENG is set to EN.
7. The Japanese original remains unchanged.
8. The English page is not a duplicate of an existing English edition.
